What it does
One click on the flame and your Mac won't go to sleep while you're away. If you want, it stays awake with the lid closed too, and your chat apps keep showing you as active. When the session ends, or the battery runs low, your Mac sleeps as usual.
15 minutes, 1, 3 or 8 hours, or until you turn it off.
Your MacBook keeps working with the lid shut, and goes back to normal as soon as Vigil stops.
The display stays on and your chat apps don't mark you as away.
Awake while your Mac is plugged in, or while the apps you pick are open.
When the battery drops below 20%, or a closed Mac gets hot. It tells you, and comes back when that passes.
Keep your Mac awake or let it sleep from the Shortcuts app, or ask Siri.
Privacy and permissions
Only for Lid closed: it turns off sleep for the whole Mac while Vigil is on, and puts your setting back when Vigil stops, quits or crashes.
Only for Stay Active: after 2 minutes without input it sends a mouse event where the pointer already is, so it doesn't move.
No analytics: what you do on your Mac stays on your Mac. The app contacts us only for its License and updates.
What you get
From the House Rules, the same for every app.
- Pay once. Never a subscription.
No renewals, and no reminder to cancel in time.
- The app you buy is yours for good.
It checks its License offline, so it keeps working even if our server doesn't.
- One license, 5 active Macs.
A Mac counts while you use it. One you stop using drops off by itself after 90 days.
- 30 days to change your mind, full refund.
No questions asked.
- Every update is free, forever.
No paid upgrades. An app that changes purpose is a new app, with a new license.
- No ads, no tracking, nothing sold, in the apps.
The app contains no analytics.

Questions
All questionsCan I try an app before buying it?
Every app page has a Demo that runs in your browser, so you can see how the app works before you buy. There's no trial to download: the 30-day refund covers the rest.
How many Macs can I use an app on?
Up to 5 active Macs at a time. A Mac is active when the app has been opened on it and has checked in with us in the last 90 days.
There's nothing to deactivate: a Mac you stop using drops out of the count on its own after 90 days. Each app's About window shows how many Macs are active.
Does the app need the internet?
Only once, to activate: the app opens your browser, you sign in, and you're sent back to the app, activated. After that it works offline.
When it's online, it checks its License at most once a day. If you're offline for months, or our servers are down, the app keeps working.
Are updates free?
Yes, all of them, forever. Every update we release for an app you own is free: no paid upgrades, no "version 2" to buy again. Updates arrive inside the app.
If we ever turn an app into something with a different purpose, that's a new app, and the one you have stays yours.
What if an app isn't for me?
You have 30 days from purchase for a full refund, no questions asked. That's longer than the 14 days EU law gives for online purchases. In your Account, choose Refund next to the app under Your orders. Can't sign in? Write to support@getquits.app with the email you paid with and your order number.
We ask Stripe for the refund at once, and the app stays active until Stripe confirms it. Then Link confirms the refund by email and the money goes back to the payment method you used. You can refund a whole order or single apps.
