What it does
Pick a limit from 80% to 100% and Eighty sets the charge limit built into macOS: your Mac runs on wall power and the battery ages more slowly. Before a trip, one click charges it to full, just this once.
From 80% to 100%, held by macOS even while your Mac sleeps. Now and then macOS still charges to 100% to keep its battery estimates accurate.
Charges to 100% this once, or by a set time on the days you travel, then goes back to your limit.
From 20% to 75% while your Mac is awake with the lid open. That costs about 1 charge cycle a day, so it stays off until you turn it on.
Shows what the battery is really doing (charging, holding or running down), not just what you asked for.
Cycles, capacity and history, stored only on your Mac.
Set the limit, charge to full, pause or change the Energy Mode from the Shortcuts app, or ask Siri.
Privacy and permissions
Sets the charge limit in System Settings > Battery, and puts your own limit back when you turn Eighty off.
Runs in the background to record battery history, which never leaves your Mac, to change the Energy Mode when you ask, and to hold a limit below 80% if you turn that on.
No analytics: what you do on your Mac stays on your Mac. The app contacts us only for its License and updates.
What you get
From the House Rules, the same for every app.
- Pay once. Never a subscription.
No renewals, and no reminder to cancel in time.
- The app you buy is yours for good.
It checks its License offline, so it keeps working even if our server doesn't.
- One license, 5 active Macs.
A Mac counts while you use it. One you stop using drops off by itself after 90 days.
- 30 days to change your mind, full refund.
No questions asked.
- Every update is free, forever.
No paid upgrades. An app that changes purpose is a new app, with a new license.
- No ads, no tracking, nothing sold, in the apps.
The app contains no analytics.

Questions
All questionsCan I try an app before buying it?
Every app page has a Demo that runs in your browser, so you can see how the app works before you buy. There's no trial to download: the 30-day refund covers the rest.
How many Macs can I use an app on?
Up to 5 active Macs at a time. A Mac is active when the app has been opened on it and has checked in with us in the last 90 days.
There's nothing to deactivate: a Mac you stop using drops out of the count on its own after 90 days. Each app's About window shows how many Macs are active.
Does the app need the internet?
Only once, to activate: the app opens your browser, you sign in, and you're sent back to the app, activated. After that it works offline.
When it's online, it checks its License at most once a day. If you're offline for months, or our servers are down, the app keeps working.
Are updates free?
Yes, all of them, forever. Every update we release for an app you own is free: no paid upgrades, no "version 2" to buy again. Updates arrive inside the app.
If we ever turn an app into something with a different purpose, that's a new app, and the one you have stays yours.
What if an app isn't for me?
You have 30 days from purchase for a full refund, no questions asked. That's longer than the 14 days EU law gives for online purchases. In your Account, choose Refund next to the app under Your orders. Can't sign in? Write to support@getquits.app with the email you paid with and your order number.
We ask Stripe for the refund at once, and the app stays active until Stripe confirms it. Then Link confirms the refund by email and the money goes back to the payment method you used. You can refund a whole order or single apps.
